In response to the urgent need for climate adaptation highlighted by recent extreme weather events, the French government launched its third National Climate Change Adaptation Plan (PNACC) on March 10, 2025. The plan, featuring around 50 measures, aims to prepare France for a potential 4°C temperature increase by 2100. Key elements include strengthening the Barnier fund to €300 million, enhancing worker protections against heatwaves, conducting studies for adapting transport and agriculture, revising housing renovation regulations, and safeguarding major cultural sites. While the government emphasizes concrete actions for territorial adaptation, some observers consider the plan insufficient.
